As a leading turnkey engineering contractor, we design, install, operate and maintain environmentally friendly energy generation centers and the distribution infrastructure, mainly for new build, in the public/private residential, retail and commercial sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. We work with some of the UK's most respected Property Developers and the top 20 construction companies as well as the UK's leading energy utilities companies.
Vital Energi Utilities Ltd are looking to recruit an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager who will manage a team of 19 engineers and be prepared to travel to our UK-wide sites, including London, but be based in Blackburn reporting to our MD. The successful candidate will have a hard-services background which will include extensive hands-on knowledge of large scale conventional pipework systems, burners,solid fuel, gas and oil fired boilers generating steam and hot waterand building management systems. A knowledge of district energy distribution and maintenance and CHP and Biomass plant would be desirable. The candidate will have the ability to manage and improve the efficiency and financial viability of existing contracts, maintain and develop our strategy for quality, health, safety and the environment and can also expect to be involved in developing new business in conjunction with our Business Development, Commercial and Proposals teams. This is a key position where the candidate will be the face of Vital Energi's O&M department in maintaining and developing a strong client relationship.
The main duties of the O&M Manager include:
·Maintain a high profile involvement with our O&M clients
·Work alongside our business development and design teams to provide, advice, information and support to help secure new business in all sectors of Vital Energi
·Work within your own remit and sphere of operations to develop and secure new O&M contracts
·Develop ongoing strategies for the O&M department
·Manage the O&M contracts and assets for viability and profitability in conjunction with the commercial team
·In conjunction with the commercial team write bespoke contract agreements for new clients based on the company standards
·Where appropriate develop the introduction and use of Maximo (work management software) in all new and existing contracts
·To ensure that efficient and cost effective planned and preventative maintenance programmes, including the holding of spares and consumables, are developed for all contracts
·To ensure that each site has its own specific operating, health, safety, environmental and emergency procedures which are revised regularly to ensure compliance with current statutory and legislative requirements
·Manage and develop the existing O&M team
·To ensure that all engineers and operatives have the ability to undertake the roles in which they are employed
·Provide and manage a reactive maintenance service
·Undergo any training deemed essential by the company
Desirable:
- GasSafe Registered.
- 17th edition (BS 7671-2008)
- Familiarity with electronic maintenance systems.
- Have an understanding of fault diagnostics on low & medium voltage utility plant/systems, fixed wiring system testing, and control systems.
- Familiar with planning software such as MS Project/Primavera
