Role & Responsibilities;
DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT OF RAIL/STRUCTURES PROJECTS
APPLICANTS MUST HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE.
- To support the central design office in the Design of Civil Engineering structures & Railway Structures, Bridges, & Stations Structures.
- Production of preliminary and detailed design, including the preparation, checking and/or approval of reports, specifications, tenders or other written documents, design calculations and drawings.
- Site inspections and surveys as required for the completion of projects.
- Brief site engineers/agents on requirements for any site works.
- Management of Engineers and Technicians within the Design Department, supporting the Design Manager.
- Represent the design office at site and progress meetings with the site management/team.
- Provide outline design input at remit stage.
MUST HAVE:
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, working towards chartered status is desirable.
- Previous experience in the Design of Civil Engineering structures & Railway Structures, Bridges, & Stations Structures.
- Detailed knowledge of Network Rail Company and Line standards.
- Experience and detailed knowledge of SHEA (Safety, Health & Environment, Assurance) requirements.
- Be fully competent and have extensive experience in the production of accurate construction drawings.
