Architectural Design Head

Position:Architectural Design Section Head (Zone Core Team)

Responsible to:Technical Manager – C & A (Project core team)

Responsible for: Design review and technical support of the architectural design works associated with each of the individual design packages.

Direct Reports:Zone Architectural Design Engineers, Zone Façade Design Engineers, Zone Architectural Materials Engineer.

Duties:

• Responsible for the design review, technical support, expediting and coordination of the A/E’s architectural design works, in accordance with schedules, and international and local design standards as well as liaison, as approved by the Owner, with the end user.

• Responsible for architectural design productivity analysis and verification, monitoring, and expediting design activities, attending A/E Design Coordination meetings, and constructability studies and analysis, and related cost and time comparisons in relation to architectural and interior works for each of the separate design packages.

• Responsible for architectural design productivity analysis and verification, monitoring, and expediting design activities, attending A/E Design Coordination meetings, and constructability studies and analysis, and related cost and time comparisons in relation to facade works for each of the separate design packages

• Participate in A/E value engineering workshops (if any), constructability studies and analysis, and related cost and time comparisons in relation to architectural works for each of the separate design packages.

• Conduct evaluation of architectural drawings to ensure all design perimeters have been considered and due attention has been given to local special or unique design conditions.

• Conduct review of tender documentation for each A/E set of tender documents for completeness and rationalization of interfacing.

• Oversee and Manage Zone Architectural Material Engineers

• Ensure development and accuracy of Shop Drawings and design coordination documents.Including conveyance to the Zone project teams for implementation in the field in accordance with the package / tower schedules.

• Oversee the management and assistance with the Zone project team with any design questions related to this discipline.
