My client in Ireland is one of the world's largest and most diverse Healthcare Corporations. They currently produce daily disposable and extended wear Contact Lenses at their manufacturing facility based in South West Ireland while utilising a number of innovative technologies in the injection-moulding, robotics, vision system and sterilization processes.
The role they are recruiting for currently is a Senior (Injection Moulding) Polymer Engineer
This role will be developing and analysing strategies to understand the fundamentals of how the medical device chemistry relates to product performance and will be supporting the R&D group in New Product Introduction, and Applying Polymer Chemical / Process expertise to support ongoing activities within Injection Molding Group and recommend materials science technology improvements for existing products and processes.
Identifying and vetting potential business partners, new business opportunities, and suppliers for their R&D department, NPI and Baseline Operational initiatives.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Master's or advanced degree in a scientific, engineering, or related discipline is required. A minimum of 7+ years of experience in polymer chemistry/processing or a related discipline is preferred.
Hands-on experimentation background with experience in polymer characterization, structure - property and utilization towards intended application would be highly advantageous.
Experience in medical device product / process development is desirable.
There will be some travel involved in this role with the successful candidate required to visit Germany, Japan and the US on a fairly regular basis.
