About the Company: The company we are recruiting for are an independent privately owned organisation that are globally considered the best Marine contractor around with an annual turnover in excess of £100million. They have a strong background in successfully completing complex large scale projects ranging from Coastal Sea Defence Protection Schemes, Dredging Works to Infrastructure Marine.
About the Role: My Client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to be based over in Southern Ireland for a high profile project that is due to finish in 2010. The project involves dredging works for placement of a tunnel under a famous river. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for pre and post contract negotiations; future tendering; liaising closely with procurement teams; working with sub-contractors, estimating variations and final accounts. Once this project is concluded candidates will be required to work on alternative projects and will be given the opportunity to work for the overseas teams.
About the Requirement: Successful candidates will be degree qualified or have a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering; they will have at least 3 years post qualification experience working on heavy civils projects; candidates will be highly numerate and literate; previous experience in Marina works, Coastal or Water projects would be advantageous but not essential. Flexibility to work away from home is a necessity.
