SPECIFICATION: Accountability:
• Reviews Master Plan to assimilate requirements for the Industrial railroad.
• Reviews studies and reports from A/Es and prepares tasks for RFP packages.
• Reviews and coordinates the following items with the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractor:
• Dynamic simulation model for railroad & highway infrastructure
• Signaling system
• SRO standards for implementation with Jubail Industrial Railroad
• Radio communication options
• Rolling stock options
• Maintenance requirements
• Risk Analysis & emergency routing of trains
• Train movements & travel times/speed, track chart
• Alignment review
• Track configuration
• Control center location & configuration
• Grade crossing protection
• Traffic control
• Signage for grade crossings
• Carload tariffs
• Rule books & operating procedures
• Assists the APE with support to Construction of railwayengineering issues and ensures timely resolution to avoid impact ofconstruction
• Assists the APE with support to Construction to ensure timely issuing of DCNs, change orders and technical submittals.
Key Technical Skills:
• College Graduate with BS in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive experience in railway systems design.
• Experience in railway construction.
• Sufficient knowledge of computers to develop dynamic simulations models
• Experience in state-of-the-art signaling and train control systems with emphasis of transportation of hazardous products.
