Bizarre story.
What's the weirdest thing that's ever stopped your excavator? Or other machine?
Oystercatchers, Lizards, Great Crested Newts, poisonous snakes and this is in the UK.
The envirement girl on the job with the snakes said if we see one just shoo it into some bushes!
I thought yeah right if i see a poisonous snake i'm going the other way!
How exactly are you meant to 'shoo' a snake!
I'm pretty sure waving your hands energetically at a poisonous snake is unlikely to send the slippery thing packing...

Great Crested Newts - I can't see how these can be 'endangered' given the number of times they crop up on construction sites.
Our unofficial line on them is - 'if you see one, stamp on it quick'.
