Health and Safety Manager – Opportunity for HSE/SHE Manager to join Irish owned specialist building contractor to manage health & safety across multiple projects in County Dublin. This company are leading the way with prestigious clients in Ireland and the UK. You will receive the opportunity to leverage your experience on building sites to provide thorough EHSEQ/ Health & Safety procedures in accordance with the company’s existing high standards. Manager a team of safety officer’s and develop your career with a growing firm.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, implement and audit Health and Safety procedures and policies across the business
  • Update and maintain Health and Safety procedures and the Organisation’s Safety Statement in compliance with Regulatory requirements
  • Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced
  • Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for senior management
  • Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Authority (HSA) legislation and any developments that affect the industry
  • Provide Training; Induction, Refresher and Manual Handling Training as required
  • Represent the Company during outside Agency Audits/Inspections and liaise as required with the Health & Safety Authority
  • Co-Ordinate the Health and Safety committee for all sites and ensure regular monthly meetings
  • Improve the health and safety culture, through training and awareness campaigns
  • Any ad-hoc duties that may arise
  • Regular travel to sites in the UK will be necessary for the role

Necessary skills and requirements:

  • Third Level education in Health and Safety or related discipline is required
  • A minimum of 5 years Health and Safety experience
  • Qualification in manual handling instruction would be an advantage
  • Experience in leading and carrying out Risk Assessment
  • Previous knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 systems
  • Ability to deliver training modules to all levels of the Organisation to include, first aid, manual handling and fire warden training
