Senior Commercial Manager

Our client is a large, highly respected developer/contractor working exclusively in Baku, Azerbaijan. They are looking to appoint two senior Commercial Managers to work on their portfolio of projects.

The projects in question are:

1)Large Scale Iconic Waterfront Building – $250m USD.

2)Six Phase Residential Development – First Phase $35m USD. (Balance of phases approximately $35m - $40m USD each).

3)Boutique Hotel – $40m USD.

4)Private Luxury Villa Development – $30m USD.

All the above are live on site projects at various stages of construction.

The ideal candidate should be:

1)Personally

a.Robust and resolute.

b.Able to work under their own initiative.

2)Qualifications

a.Degree qualified in Cost Management (QS or Equivalent).

b.A professional accreditation (RICS or equivalent) would be good but not a prerequisite for the right candidate.

3)Experience

a.Proven track record.

b.Staying power in employment history.

c.Have international experience with a large scale Contractor or Developer on a mixture of Construction projects from start to finish.

d.Previous demonstrable experience in the management of and leadership of a project commercial team.

4)Skills

a.Cost Planning / Budgeting.

i.Understanding of and ability to develop detailed cost plans.

b.Procurement.

i.Proven ability in the procurement of both Consultants and Trade Contractor packages under a Construction Management (CM) form of delivery.

c.Administration.

i.Proven ability in the management of both Consultant and Trade Contractor packages day to day.

ii.Change Management under a CM form of delivery.

iii.Valuations.

iv.Claim/Dispute Management.

v.Control of the project budget.

d.Reporting.

i.Preparation of monthly cashflows.

ii.Preparation of monthly CVR’s and project cost trackers.

iii.Preparation of monthly reports.

e.Final Accounts and Close Out.

i.Ability to negotiate and close out final accounts with Consultant and Trade Contractors.

Package:

The package is negotiable dependent upon experience and suitability of the candidate.

Timing:

Our client would like to start to look at candidates over the next two weeks with a view of having the successful candidates engaged and in place by the middle of April 2017.

With shortlisted candidates our client may take a view of having them visit Baku (At our clients cost) for a face to face interview as well as for potential candidates to see Baku and the projects before engagement.
